myLot Discussions| How much do you love your pet? | | I love my pet a lot. We've 2 cats, cissy and sassy, lol[em]lol[/em]I remember one day it was raining so hard like 2:00 in the morning. My cats were out and I went up to bed, half-asleep, picked up an umbrella and searched for them outside. I found the two just outside our house, so wet and shivering. I'd to take them in my both arms while holding the umbrella and I tell you it was not easy. I let them in in my room and dried them with a towel and before I went to sleep, I made sure that they're comfortably sleeping first. The time I woke up, I'd like a bad cold and I couldn't stop sneezing,[em]lol[/em] but it's okay[em]happy[/em]
| | Do you prefer large dogs | | to smaller breeds? Or do you like the smaller breeds better? No preference as long as it is a dog? All the dogs I have ever had have been 40 lbs or larger. having been bitten by smaller breed, I like a dog to be larger. | |
| | Who should pay the bill? | | Here's a scenario that happened not too long ago with the cat rescue group that I volunteer for. The rescue center is inside a Large Pet store that also has a veterinarian inside. One day a pet store employee found a cat in the parking lot. It was friendly, so they picked it up, brought it inside and put it in one of our cages. Since it was friendly, appeared to be healthy and passed its FLV/FIV test, we agreed to take it in. It was adopted out, but then became very ill. The adopter brought the cat back to the store in the evening when our group was not there. The store took it upon themselves to bring the cat to the veterinarian on premises and authorize a number of tests. By the time our person called the vet back (about a 45 minute delay), the cat had apparently tested positive for parvo and been euthanized. If our group had had a say in the matter, the cat would have been taken to our vet, with whom we have an agreement and the bill would have been much lower.Who should pay the bill?
My take on it.....If I had taken a cat that wasn't mine to a vet and authorized treatment on it, I would consider myself...
| | New group for feral cat caretakers in Yahoo Groups | | I have started a new group for feral cat caretakers in Yahoo Groups called Costco Feral Cat Caretakers. I originally thought of getting together as many caretakers as possible who care for colonies at Costco but my idea has expanded to all big box stores and large pet stores such as Petco, Petsmart, etc. The purpose of this group is to get together people who may be facing similar issues with regards to their colonies and help form a strong coalition with which to advocate for the safety, health and wellbeing of these precious creatures. We are their voice! Please go to Yahoo Groups to join. Please provide a valid email address. We hope to make it an interesting and informative site. Thank you. | |
| | feed pet | | one of my friend like pet very much.
In her house, you can find several kinds of pets.
Her dream is to open a large pet store.
I don't like pet except fish, so i can't understand why she regard all of her pets as her baby.
I don't know if there are some pet lovers.
Maybe i should recommend her to come in mylot to make pet lovers friends.
| | A pet is NOT just for Christmas, please think carefully this festive season | | I know this is probably one of those subjects that has been done over and over again but this morning I heard something that made my blood boil. We have a large pet shop in our local high street and it is always busy. It is a great shop, run by wonderful people who care pasionately about animals. It's a shame some of the customers are not so caring however. While I was buying some cat treats for Moomin a family came into the shop, Mum, Dad and four kids. They went straight to the rear of the shop to look at some of the small pets there, mainly hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs etc., but the shop also had a couple of puppies. The kids were screaming and shouting about the pups, demanding the puppies for Christmas. I overheard the Mum saying that they would get the pups for the kids as they would make "cute presents" while one of the owners of the pet shop was doing his best to dissuade the family from buying the dogs. The Dad then joined in the conversation, quite beligerantly demanding the pups were sold to them immediately while the kids were screaming and shouting. I know the owners of the shop quite well and was chatting to the lady when she lowered her voice and said to... | |
